Ethan Allen Dining Chairs in French Linen

Before I share the dining chairs, I am happy that the Art Deco Buffet has found a new home in Virginia. A great new beginning for that lovely old piece that I found in the back of a barn!

Now on to the chairs!

This is a very simple fix to change up dated chairs that are too good to get rid of but are boring at this point and need a different look. These chairs are very similar to my own dining room set, and are made by Ethan Allen Furniture. They are solid wood and in excellent condition. They just needed a change in order for their current owner to keep them and be happy when she walked into her dining room.

For this project, I used something that I have never used before. I have been painting furniture for 10 years and finally purchased a spray gun! It was a game changer and I actually loved it for this kind of job. It was the perfect tool to apply an application of paint evenly to each chair.

I used Dixie Belle Chalk Mineral Paint in the color French Linen. I applied two coats and let them sit for a week in my garage. I then used the Dixie Belle wax in both clear and in dark to highlight the lovely medallions in the center of the backs, as well as the fluted legs.

Here they are now! So elegant.

I am going to work on her dining table and paint the legs and skirt to match the chairs. I’ll share soon! I will be hand painting the rest of her pieces, but if anyone is interested, the sprayer that I purchased at Home Depot is the Wagner Spray Tech. Super easy to put together and use.

If you are interested in using any of the paints or stains that I have used on my projects, please find all of the products in my Shop Paints!

The Funky Cabinet was just listed on Etsy! I’m adding it to my SHOP here on my site.

I have a huge china cabinet that I will post soon. Have a great week!
