Matching My Furniture Paint Finish to a Pinterest Photo

I recently finished a commission piece and it was a really fun transformation. It started as a very basic, Early American chest of drawers (see pic on left). It is well made, solid wood and very useful with drawers that open and close easily. It’s honestly a pretty heavy little chest of drawers!

My customer had an image that was her inspiration for the new finish and asked if I could replicate it. It is going under a gorgeous original oil painting she has in her home.

Here is the video on the whole process. It was trial and error, with my having to go back quite a few times to get it right. I used Behr Chalk Paint in the color Shasta Lake, and Dixie Belle paints in Bunker Hill and Midnight, plus clear and dark waxes.

I hope you like it! I hope she loves it too!
